My 360 Freezing theories
I just got my 360 a week ago (man. date 1-20-06) and i played it at least 3 hours a day before i head to work. Then right after the march update, it began to freeze and the little dot appeared, but no RROD. Upon readin countless of post about different people's experiences, I decided to purchase another 360 (man date 1-28-06) just for testing purposes and this is what i've came to.(Note: Everyone's problem is different, but I'm just stating what happened to me)1. I bought three games, GRAW, PGR3, and DOA4. I tried GRAW on the first box and it frooze in 4 minutes. The second box, it frooze in 10 minutes. This happened with the update. 2. DOA4 played for an hour before freeze on the first box, but last only 20 minutes on the second. Its funny that it frooze almost the same place, even though the disk is new. 3. PGR lasted at least an hour on both systems. Now, here's the killer for me. I played a copy of the kiosk disk and it ran an entire day. I had two copies of this and played it in both systems and it ran with no problems at all. Even the fan didnt get loud when i was running it.There was no heat problems, no power brick overheating. It just ran like a game should have. The march update has killed damn near half the 360 population and microsoft is doing little to nothing for us but to send in our systems and get a new( ha ha) system which chances are that it too will mess up on you as well. That's why i believe that its not the hardware at all, it has to be the software, (with the exceptions of the broken dvd players that's eating disks)People that played graw may have had a couple of hours to a day of fun and adventure, but when we had to update it in order to play it, that software code became unstable. I'm pretty sure that if that kiosk disk can play ok with COD2 and Kameo demos, then the actual disk should be the same. I'm pretty sure that microsoft can release an update to fix all our problems, but the game companies have to give us a patch that will fix the freezing in the games. A software update made half the owners of 360s stop working, I'm pretty sure another one will fix all our problems. IF the update gives us the RROD, then we should get a new system, plus and extra year on our warrenties or something!!!Sorry for the long speech, but I feel that if we send in our systems to be fix, it should be new systems and have already been updated with the CORRECT update, not give us back a used system and tell us go and update again and hope for the best.
